About Me

I am a mechatronic engineer with several years of experience building various wired and wireless embedded control systems, ranging from autonomous robots, a motion training device, medical devices, to an interactive art piece. In addition, I had the opportunity to work in many interdisciplinary teams and different cultures such as building an agricultural diagnostic tool to help Ghanaian farmers, building computer-human interaction device in Finland, and conducting research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.

  • 2011-2015

    Stanford University: Ph.D.

I worked with Prof. Mark Cutkosky on Wearable Sensing and Feedback for Gait Retraining. Now, I am ready to tackle new challenging problems.

  • 2013

Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Visiting Researcher

I worked with Prof. Pete Shull in Biomechatronics and Biorobotics Lab at the Robotics Institute on Wearable Sensing for Gait Movement.

  • 2011-2012

    CropScout: Cofounder

We developed a mobile-based diagnostic tool to help farmers in Northern Ghana identifying pests and diseases.

  • 2011

    University of Tampere: Researcher

I developed a wearable optical-based lower-limb kinematic estimation device and a wireless haptic controller device.

  • 2009-2011

    Stanford University: M.S.

I majored in Mechanical Engineering with a depth in Mechatronics and breadth in Biomechanics.

  • 2009

    Intelligent Prosthetic Systems: R&D Engineer

I supported the development of the next generation advanced prosthetic foot through embedded systems firmware design and subjects testing.

  • 2005-2008

    University of Michigan: B.S.E.

I majored in Mechanical Engineering and also worked in Human Biomechanics and Controls Lab under Prof. Art Kuo.
